This year, for the first time, the WLO Reception will be held virtually, but we are more committed than ever to bringing women together who are united in the fight against cancer. This year's reception will feature an inspiring keynote speaker, Debi Hemmeter, who deeply understands the unique challenges women leaders face in today's ever-changing world. The 2020 WLO Reception will bring us together virtually for fellowship and inspiration and to celebrate the women who are making a difference in oncology.

Honoring Tomorrow's Women Leaders of Oncology
It is with your support that WLO is able to fund the annual WLO Women Who Conquer Cancer Young Investigator Award, given to women who are reaching new heights in cancer research. Past recipients, chosen by a peer-review process modeled after that of the National Institutes of Health, have contributed to our understanding of how we can identify and treat all forms of cancer.
“This award has allowed me to determine new mechanisms that increase radiation sensitivity. I hope to one day translate this to the clinic to create more personalized radiation therapy treatments to improve patient outcomes.”

LEAD 2020: Enriching Experiences for Women in Hematology & Oncology
With over 500 virtual attendees, the 2020 LEAD Conference: Enriching Experiences for Women in Hematology and Oncology may have looked a bit different this year, but the inspiration, empowerment, and advancement of women was still positively overwhelming. Conference topics included moving reflections of women doctors from diverse backgrounds, leadership strategies, tactics for career success and advancement, and how to address inequality in healthcare. As one attendee said, “Thank you to all of these inspiring speakers for being vulnerable about their strengths and their weaknesses! This has been so impactful!”
We hope you’ll join us in 2021 for another year of inspirational speakers, powerful content, and valuable community engagement.
